Ocular optics courses
The agreement between LNETI and the Opticians National Association lead to basic training of these professionals. Another protocol signed with the Portuguese Professional Union of Optics and Optometrists founded the Portuguese School of Optics and Optometry, whose courses started in February 1981.
Was its director until March 1986.
Training courses in basic Ocular Optics, lasting six months and deeply practical, started in Lisbon in September 1980 and took place in Coimbra, Porto, Aveiro, Beja, Covilhã, Funchal, Faro, Porto and Vila Real.

Founder of the company EID. INDEP:
In INDEP, he was Member of the Board of Directors from 1984 to 1988. With INDEP he developed the program SILAFA which involved the design, test and production of air-ground and air-air simulation systems, as well as targeting systems, sensing and laser telemetry; the SITPUL a combat simulation project with laser technology.

Research and engineering in optics, interferometry, information processed by electronic microscopy, image processing, use of lasers in the quality control of raw materials of textiles led to the publication of many studies and scientific papers and the award of several prizes: PFIZER in 1977, Gulbenkian Science and Technology in 1978, Kalie-Chimie in 1990, Gulbenkian Science and Technology in 1982.
Under the Nuclear Science and Techniques programme of LNETI he negotiated with the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) the construction of a radio sterilization unit in Portugal.
